The Maine Coon is an American breed, bred to be farm cats. They are a large, medium haired cat. Maine Coons come in a variety of colors. Maine coons are laid back. I used to own a Maine coon, they are so beautiful.
One drawback seems to be that they do not really feel pain as quickly as some. One of mine accidentally caught his tail on fire, luckily he was okay. They are an intelligent breed.
